What do I need to be a Children's Yoga Teacher?
There are no legal requirements in Australia for what training you need to be able to teach Kid's Yoga because Yoga is an unregulated industry. However, the voluntary registration bodies, Yoga Australia (for Australia and NZ) and Yoga Alliance (USA & global) recommend 95 hours of specialised training with a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher Training school on top of holding a Level 1 Yoga Teacher Certificate (minimum 200 hours).
The Inspired Kid's Yoga Teacher Training Level 3 is a registered 95 hour training with both Yoga Alliance and Yoga Australia and you need to complete the two days face to face practical training to get your final certificate.
Level 1 & 2 of the Calm Coach or Inspired Kids Yoga Teacher training will still enable you to get a certificate for insurance, however you have to stay within the scope of that level of training.
To begin teaching Children's Yoga you will need:
* a certificate from a Children's Yoga Teacher Training School
* insurance that covers the level of training that you have done
* a "Safe to work with children" card
* first aid certificate
The Inspired Kids Yoga Teacher training teaches you everything that you need to know to teach a safe, inspiring and educational, age appropriate yoga class for ages two to teen.
You will receive the lesson plan frameworks and all of the helpful information and tips that I have gleaned from my 20 years experience of teaching yoga to children (from kindy to teen) so that your journey can be as easeful and streamlined as possible so that you can immediately make an impact with the children in your community.
