Foundation  Modules

Step into the circle of Inspired Kids Yoga Teacher Training.

This three day training comprises of Module 1: Foundations + Module 2: PPP (Planning, Prac Teaching & Processing).

It is my signature training that I have been sharing with hundreds of trainees since 2012. I am constantly updating it to ensure it has the most up to date information and the most practical training manual.

Whether you are a qualified yoga teacher wanting to become a RCYT (Registered Children's Yoga Teacher);  a classroom teacher or educator, a dance teacher, sports coach, youth mentor or simply a passionate yogi who wants to share the benefits of yoga to help kids & teens feel calm, courageous and compassionate- then this training is for you!

Why are  the Foundation  modules the pre-requisite?

These first two modules are packaged together to cover all of the nuts and bolts of how to teach a really quality kids yoga class. You will learn childhood anatomy and development; how to set up and manage the classroom; an easy to remember template for lesson plans; lots of yoga poses, games, breathing, mindfulness and relaxation techniques.

Whilst the Foundation modules focus on ages 5-12, what you learn over these three days provides you with the foundation of knowledge that is built upon in the other modules.

"Can I skip the Foundations module if I have done a similar course with another training provider, and just do a single day module with Inspired Kids Yoga?"  No, sorry. The Inspired Kids Yoga Teacher Training has been carefully mapped out as a progressive learning system. The theoretical components; teaching methods and the two frameworks unique to Inspired Kids Yoga covered in the Foundation modules, set you up with the knowledge that you need for the subsequent modules, which means there can be less repetition and more time for specifics.

The Foundation & PPP modules include:

  • Anatomy & development for kids ages 5-12

  • Classroom set up

  • Behaviour management

  • Engaging kids

  • How to be authentically YOU when you teach

  • Suitable yoga poses and ones to avoid

  • Yoga games

  • Breathing techniques

  • Relaxation techniques

  • Lesson planning

  • Practical teaching

  • Feedback

  • Training manual with photos

  • Certificate with Yoga Australia/ Alliance registration badge

What can you teach after the Foundations training?

untitled-143-2.jpg

You will graduate from the training armed with lots of tools and systems so you are ready to start teaching right away. You will feel inspired and fired up with the confidence that YOU have something unique and special to offer kids aged 5-12.

Certified Yoga Teachers will be able to claim the hours as CPD points and/or work towards the required hours to become a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT).

Registration with Yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance is recommended to uphold professional standards and give you insurance confidence, but it is not a legal requirement.  Read more.

Once you get a "Working with Children" card, first aid certificate and insurance to cover what you have learnt in this training (I can hook you up with that), then you are able to start sharing the inspiration with kids right away.

If you want to teach early childhood or teens, add on the single day module.

"I've had the pleasure of doing the Foundations module with Stacey and I've found her training to be fun, educational and inspiring. The content is well thought out and delivered. After training I found I had more confidence not just in my teaching but also in myself, Stacey has a wonderful knack in helping you find your authentic path and letting that shine through to share with the world."

Learn from expert experience

When I facilitate the training I share real life stories from my current work and from the past 12 years of teaching weekly classes. In addition I reflect upon what I learn through my experiences working in the role of Yoga Therapist in a children's hospital ward.

It is these current and ongoing experiences as a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher working with kids and teens of all ages and abilities, in all settings (yoga studios, schools, hospitals, mental health wards) that keep me evolving as a teacher.  It also keeps the Inspired Kids Yoga training fresh and inspired.  I openly share with you my "tricks of the trade" as well as my "fails", so that you have a shortcut to learning what I have learnt over a decade through trial and error.
